When the sky lights up at Lake Matheson it really is a special place to be.  Just a 20 minute walk in will find you at one of two lookouts.  With the mist rising off the water, pre-dawn colour lighting up the clouds and views across the reflecting lake to Aoraki Mt Cook it felt like a dream.
