Exploring Queenstown

More Lake is a favourite here. On a calm day the reflections are insane and when the day is over the clearest of stars remind us we are just a minute part of the universe.

The road from Queenstown to Glenorchy is one of the most beautiful in New Zealand. There's lots of Free camping along here and if you're lucky, as I was, you will see some dramatic clouds and colour come sunrise.

The road that takes you over the Crown Range between Queenstown and Wanaka is beautiful at any time of the year but even more so when there's fresh powder

Glenorchy is one of those little places that has its own unique feel. Grab a coffee and head down to the jetty. It's serenity on a whole new level

This little road leads you past Lake Kirkpatrick and on to Moke Lake. Ive stayed here often. It can be colder than cold in the winter but thats part of its unique attraction.

If you haven't spent a night on the town in Queenstown, you are definitely missing out.

Stargazing at Moke Lake is an incredible experience. If you're really lucky you will see the Aurora Australis here.

This is Jacks Point. Reflections are often seen here from every direction. The Remarkables range is just to the left from this spot.

I will never get enough of the South Island and use Queenstown as my base. Everything you could possibly need is here. Its a foodies dream location, caters to every adrenalin junkie, has the most incredible ski fields, the most spectacular of scenery and the friendliest of people. Why would you want to leave!
